MINI LIVENET

Learn on it. Use it. Attack it. Improve it. Then build the blockchain.

MINI LIVENET is designed to look, feel and act like a cryptocurrency blockchain environment in virtually every way visible to its users while the real MINI blockchain is completed and hardened behind the scenes.

LIVENET is not the MINI blockchain, and we will never pretend that it is. Its backend remains centrally operated during this stage.

That is deliberate.

LIVENET gives beginners a real cryptocurrency experience while giving MINI something equally important: a public proving ground where problems can be discovered and fixed before they become permanent parts of a decentralized blockchain.

A Real Cryptocurrency Learning Environment

MINI exists for people who always wanted to mine cryptocurrency but did not know how.

Learning shouldn't stop when a miner starts blinking.

LIVENET is intended to let participants experience the major concepts they will encounter in a real cryptocurrency network.

Participants will progressively be able to:

The goal is that someone who begins MINI knowing almost nothing about cryptocurrency can progressively understand mining, wallets, transactions, pools, explorers, nodes, self-custody and blockchain infrastructure.

They will also gain the knowledge necessary to understand and explore other cryptocurrency systems.

Why Isn't LIVENET Already a Blockchain?

Because MINI does not want to make unfinished engineering permanent merely so it can claim to be decentralized sooner.

A decentralized blockchain is intentionally difficult to change.

That is a tremendous strength once the rules are proven. It can be a tremendous liability when they are not.

LIVENET allows MINI to operate publicly at meaningful scale while we are still able to correct serious mistakes.

The final blockchain is being developed behind the scenes while LIVENET exposes the mining system, economy, wallets, transactions, pools, security systems and user experience to real-world use.

We Expect LIVENET to Find Problems

LIVENET is where we want the worst problems to show themselves.

A small Closed Testnet cannot reproduce everything that happens when a network is opened to the public.

We expect LIVENET to encounter things such as:

Finding these problems during LIVENET is not a failure of LIVENET.

It is one of the primary reasons LIVENET exists.

Every serious problem discovered, understood and corrected during LIVENET is a problem MINI does not have to discover for the first time after that behavior has been embedded into Mainnet consensus.

Visible and Auditable

If LIVENET is going to teach blockchain concepts, it must not merely imitate their appearance. Its underlying activity should be visible.

The MINI LIVENET Explorer is intended to provide public access to information such as:

LIVENET issuance and economic activity should leave a persistent, auditable history rather than suddenly appearing as a database snapshot when Mainnet launches.

This serves two purposes at once: it teaches participants how to use a cryptocurrency explorer, and it allows the community to inspect what MINI is actually doing.

LIVENET Mining Fairness

MINI is open to ESP32s, CPUs, GPUs, Raspberry Pis and other supported hardware.

Adaptive difficulty addresses vertical scaling: making one miner dramatically faster should not produce a proportionally larger per-miner reward.

Miner registration and probation address horizontal scaling: one powerful computer, cloud system or botnet should not be able to instantly present itself as hundreds or thousands of independently rewarded miners.

A verified LIVENET account begins with 2 miners.

With sustained qualifying activity, additional miners may be registered progressively:

2 → 7 → 12 → 17 → 22 → continued earned expansion

A bad qualifying period does not remove miners already approved. It simply delays further expansion.

LIVENET is currently planned to have a maximum of 50 registered miners per account.

That ceiling is a LIVENET security and issuance safeguard, not necessarily a permanent MINI Mainnet rule. Mainnet participation rules will be determined by the final architecture and the lessons learned during LIVENET.

The precise qualifying-activity definition and longer-term issuance rules are still being developed and will be published before they govern public participation.

No Premine. No Founder Allocation.

MINI does not give its founder a special allocation simply for creating the project.

There is no planned founder premine or privileged founder mining class.

The founder participates in LIVENET mining under the same registration, probation, adaptive-difficulty and reward rules as other participants.

MINI earned by the founder must be earned through mining or normal economic activity just like MINI earned by other participants.

Pools Are Part of the Experiment Too

LIVENET will initially depend heavily on MINI-operated infrastructure, but MINI is being designed for a future with multiple independently operated pools.

Third-party pools are part of the long-term network architecture.

Pool operators are intended to earn a defined percentage for providing legitimate mining infrastructure. The exact compensation and verification mechanism remains part of Mainnet engineering and will be specified before that architecture becomes active.

The official MINI pool is intended to be a starting point, not a permanent monopoly.

LIVENET Is Not Mainnet

We want this distinction to be completely clear.

LIVENET may look and behave like a blockchain environment to its users, but its ledger is centrally operated.

MINI Mainnet will be the independent blockchain.

Closed Testnet: Does the technology work?

MINI LIVENET: What happens when the public actually uses it, experiments with it, scales it and attacks it?

MINI Mainnet: What have we proven strongly enough to make permanent in an independent blockchain?

The Alpha Block Transition

When MINI's blockchain is ready and LIVENET has completed its job, LIVENET mining and transactions will freeze.

The LIVENET Explorer will remain available in read-only form so participants can inspect the final state and history.

Final balances, issuance history and cryptographic verification data are intended to be published so the transition can be independently examined.

Eligible LIVENET balances are intended to transition 1:1 into MINI Mainnet through the Alpha Block.

The detailed transition, eligibility, audit and verification rules have not yet been finalized. They will be developed during LIVENET, tested publicly, and published well before the Alpha Block transition.

A participant will be able to inspect their final LIVENET history and balance, then inspect the corresponding opening balance on MINI Mainnet.

For someone who began with a tiny miner and little cryptocurrency knowledge, this creates an unusual opportunity:

They don't merely read about the launch of a blockchain. They participate in the network that becomes one.

Build It in Public. Break It Before Mainnet.

MINI could attempt to design every Mainnet rule privately, launch a blockchain, and hope we got everything right.

We think LIVENET is the better path.

Put the system in front of beginners.

Put it in front of experts.

Put it in front of tinkerers.

Put it in front of CPU and GPU programmers.

Let people build things.

Let people use it.

Let people try to break it.

Measure what happens.

Fix what fails.

Learn what we didn't know to ask.

Then take what survived that process and build the MINI blockchain.
